As you undoubtedly heard in the episode, Mac and Me is a laughably bad film that suffers from an unoriginal concept, product placement, and terrible design. But given that, it has a weird charm to it. I appreciate that the acting isn’t half-assed, and that Alan Silvestri cut an actual score for it. While the alien family is nightmarish, Mac himself has a cute-but-sickly animal appeal to him.

As you can see, we had plenty to work with. But we’re only getting started, and I think I would have gouged my eyes out had I watched Joe Dirt 2.

Speaking of self mutilation, next week we watch The Master of Disguise.
